New Law in California: SB-855 Health Coverage

SB-855 is a new law that mandates health coverage for medically necessary mental health or substance use disorders in California. This law may support you in advocating and obtaining insurance reimbursement for Neurofeedback Services.

This state mandate starts January 1, 2021 and requires health insurance to provide coverage for medically necessary treatment for mental health or substance use disorders under the same terms and conditions as medical conditions. This also would prohibit health insurance from limiting benefits or coverage to only short-term treatment and includes health care services like prescriptions and intermediate services. Medically necessity determinations and utilization review criteria are required to be based on generally accepted standards of mental health and substance use disorder care and prohibits the health insurance from applying different or conflicting criteria than the guidelines provided by relevant nonprofit professional associations. Late Cancellation / No Show Policy

Our Late Cancellation & No Show policy is 24 hours. Appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance. If appointments are missed (No Show), cancelled or rescheduled within the 24 hour period (Late Cancellation), a fee of $30 is applied and charged to the card on file that same day. For example, if an appointment is scheduled at 1pm on Wednesday, it would need to be cancelled by 12:59pm on Tuesday. An email, text or voicemail is sufficient and are all time stamped appropriately. This policy is to protect the time reserved exclusively for each individual.
