Sophia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults ranging in age from 2 to 80. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Her academic training and clinical experience fostered a strong commitment to serving individuals with compassion and cultural sensitivity.

Sophia has worked with individuals and couples presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and grief. She also supports clients navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, identity exploration, and personal growth. Her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic approaches, and other integrative modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Sophia’s therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-centered, emphasizing the development of individualized goals and strategies aimed at enhancing life satisfaction, fostering autonomy, and reducing psychological distress. When not working with clients, Sophia can be found spending time with loved ones (especially her dog!), reading a good book, or scouring San Diego for the best vanilla latte.
